Back Pain

Chronic or intermittent back pain can be draining and make your life miserable. Dr. Espanioli can help relieve your pain whether it is caused by a misalignment of the spine or is a result of an injury. From low back pain to radiating pain along your entire spine, we will find a treatment that works for you.

Whiplash and Neck Pain

Whiplash often occurs as a result of a car accident, but what many people do not know is that it can also be caused by countless other situations, as mild as they may seem when they happen. Whiplash can even be caused by an inadequate sleeping position. Many people dismiss the pain thinking that the soreness will go away on its own or has gone because you took a pain medication, which only makes the injury worse. We are able to determine if treatment for whiplash is needed.

Sport Injuries

Sports injuries aren’t always as simple as a sprained ankle, stretched ligament or broken bone. They often require attentive chiropractor care to mend properly without leaving long-term damage and pain. If you have been injured while practicing your favorite sport and are in pain despite having been treated for the initial diagnosis, Dr. Espanioli can help.

Headaches and Migraines

Occasional headaches are common and most people take a few aspirin and forget about them. If, however, you find yourself suffering from headaches or migraines frequently, you may have a more serious, underlying condition that can be evaluated and treated by our experienced chiropractors. Conditions such as whiplash and misaligned spines can often cause chronic or frequent headaches and migraines, so getting a professional opinion is strongly recommended.

Arthritic Pain

You may be surprised to learn that often the Arthritis begins when the joints get stiff and fixated.  Dr. Espanioli, can in many cases, by employing adjustment and mobilization techniques to bring you relief from arthritic pain.

Custom Fitted Orthotics

Orthotics are an eligible expense for your employer health plan or health spending account.  Foot orthotics allow the muscles, tendons, and bones of the feet and lower legs to function at their highest potential.  When appropriately prescribed, orthotics can decrease pain, not only in the foot but in other parts of the body such as the knee, hip, and lower back.  They are an integral part of a healthy chiropractic lifestyle.

Jacqueline Espanioli RMT.  I have been massaging patients at North Hill Chiropractic Clinic since 2003.  I am a qualified therapist in Alberta with RMT #21166 with the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada.  You will see how my technique is different! I use the old-fashioned Swedish massage with a deep tissue therapeutic touch that you got used to before the concept of massage was changed.  You will love it and bring all your friends to try it.

Q & A

Do I need a referral from my Medical Doctor in order to see a Chiropractor?

No. Chiropractors are primary health care practitioners and can provide chiropractic services independently. You can set up an appointment with a chiropractor without first consulting your GP, although your Doctor may suggest that you see a chiropractor if he or she feels that chiropractic care may help you

Could chiropractic care make my condition worse?

Chiropractic care is a safe, non-intrusive procedure that will not hurt you as long as it is provided by a certified and qualified chiropractor. Complications of chiropractic care are extremely rare and not nearly as likely as they are with surgery or other forms of treatment.

If I start chiropractic care, will I have to continue chiropractic treatment for life?

Many people think that once chiropractic care starts, it has to continue. While we do recommend that our patients keep periodical appointments in order to ensure their condition remains stable and can be monitored, chiropractic care is not the reason patients keep coming back. People who require chiropractic care present conditions that can be treated by chiropractors. It is not the care you receive from your chiropractor that makes you need to continue with appointments, but rather the condition you had before starting chiropractic treatment. Some conditions can be successfully treated so that the patient does not need to continue with chiropractic treatment, but most conditions require continuous care.

I have had back surgery. Can I still benefit from chiropractic care?

Yes, you can. It is an unfortunate fact that many people who have undergone back surgery see symptoms of their original condition (often in the form of pain or reduced flexibility) come back after a number of years. Chiropractic care is a safe and efficient way of alleviating the pain associated both with your back condition and the stress of back surgery.

I have a lawyer on the case but I don’t have money to pay now, what can I do?

The clinic takes legal assignments from lawyers motor vehicle accident clients and slip and fall clients so you don’t pay until settlement.  At that time your lawyer often asks for your treatment costs from the insurance company. There is direct motor vehicle insurance billing for those that have had motor vehicle accidents,  and those that have had injury at work through the Alberta workers compensation board program, Veterans Affairs and Armed Forces.
